Faithful

Faithful

This weekend, our group had a good trip to visit Yellowstone National Park. It took long time to arrive there. I have heard friend in Missoula to tell me that “If you dislike the weather now you just wait for five minutes” it mean the weather in here always change in every five minutes and in one day you might have 4 season. Until now, I agree 100% because on the way to Yellowstone it had rain; sun shine; windy and snow.

On the way to Yellowstone, everyone were very exciting to take photos of environment; selfie and never forget to take a group photo in everywhere that stop the car. Taking photos is the main mission of our group, I just was kidding. When we arrived to Yellowstone everyone was very excited to see the snow and me too. Everyone jumped on the ground that so white like a cotton and cold like we were in the refrigerator that is “The Snow” even it was cold but no one stop to played snow and took many pictures of that moment. And both of our fellow coordinator Ms. Bonne and Ms. Barbara were smile to us and seem like they were also happy to make us happy. Thank you so much to both of you to make the dream of us come true, to see the real snow…

The one thing that I was so exciting to see “the Old Faithful”, it was named by the first official expedition to Yellowstone; the Washburn Expedition of 1870 Old Faithful erupts every 35 to 120 minutes for 1.5 to 5 minutes. Its maximum height ranges from 90 to 184 feet. It is not the biggest but it is the biggest regular geyser. Furthermore, it has been erupting in nearly the same fashion throughout the recorded history of the park. As we have seen however this geyser is not the biggest geyser but because of the eruption in the same record makes people interesting and want to see that. It is a wonderful geyser and it seem as someone set up the time or technology to make it happen, but it was the real happened by the nature for more hundred years ago.

Compare to the human, even you are not the outstanding person; super star or super hero if you honest to yourself; your heart and your belief to do a good thing. You just keep going to do on that even it will be small and someone not see it, but if you do by your heart and faithful to the thing that you do. Finally it will have a good result as everyone try to help the community and country to be better.

I have seen more clear when I have a chance to learn on “The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes” to listen their history and culture presented by Ms. Germaine. After presentation many people have question on culture, she had one comment that very interesting and it make me think back to my country also. She said that “Some time we have to know how to accept the change to move forward and hold the old culture for what else”. Example: now they have developed the application to use in smartphone for learning environment; animals and their culture. In this application also use Salish and Kootenai Tribes languages and include their history. It can be one tool to get more involve and access to people in the society easier on the environment protection and disseminate their culture also. if you are interesting to see the application from The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes please visit: CSKTFWAPPS.ORG. and App name: Animal Field Guide Flathead Reservation

Faithful to ourselves, faithful to our duty, faithful to our friend; family and society
